I would beg to differ, if your not going all out and want a good cam, without tuning for it or changeing springs and rods then this cam will be perfect.

that cam helped me go 13.67 in the 1/4, now with a better stall, gears and bigger cam i have gone times in my sig, but alot of tuning to get it right to drive everyday.

If you're getting it for free and you've got some free time on your hands then have fun and do it. You won't have any problems with that cam in your truck without changing anything else just like V8 said. However I will bet anything that if you do decide to do it, you'll be swapping that cam again for a bigger one within a year

Like jmproductions said, if the cam's a freebie, go for it. If you're concerned about springs due to pricing, you can go with LS6 springs which are only about $60 shipped from SDPC (sponsor), and go a little bigger on the cam.

i have the 204/218 and didnt change a thing other than the cam, no springs or pushrods and it works fine but like JM said, within a year you will be wanting a bigger cam. i got my cam last june and well, right on time i am ordering new parts and a new cam to be installed this summer. its a decent cam if you just want to get a little more umph out of your truck and you are a do-it-yourselfer.

No problem Kevin. I'm just saying that modding is addicting. As soon as you get used to a new mod, you want more. I wish I had gone bigger with my first cam swap so I wouldn't be thinking bigger now.

go little bigger, 206/212 or 210/216 would work nice. u won't lose any bottom end & gain a good bit on the top.
