Default what about a 427 tall deck

I'm curious how boost friendly a 427 tall deck block would be. I'm talking about the big heavy truck block with 4 bolt mains, thick cylinder walls, and the taller deck that originally gave room for a 4th ring on the pistons. I know standard 454 pistons can be used in place along with longer rods and a stroke of 4.25 can be used with next to no clearance so no real structural weakening of the block. What type of power could an all forged rotating assembly in one of these blocks handle sustained?

There's an article in this month's Car Craft about coverting the old 409 to a 481 and how it can accomodate 454 pistons and crank and Eagle rods to make big power...I guess the rub is finding a 409!

Nelson is using the dart blocks but is there really any structural difference other then the Dart blocks being new? It seems like it should be able to handle 1000+ hp ok but splayed main caps would probably be the best choice over the regular 4 bolt main caps.
