Yikes...that bites. Hard to beat GM performance for the $ to quality ratio if you dare. With the trunion upgrade of course. I feel your pain...check out my fun from crap parts a few builds back.

Yet another reason I don’t trust most rockers other then upgraded stockers and Jesel.

Very true. I learned the hard way on that nugget of wisdom.

holy **** you guys break some ****! Where did the rest of the rocker end up? The nut/set screw and associated piece of rocker were able to be fished out of the top of the head? or did they make their way through the head drain holes?

I have been watching the new tsp roller rockers with optimism but still feel if I ditch mine I’ll do Jesel. Mine are working just fine, stockers with Straub bushings but mine isn’t a DD.

For mine - I pulled the entire motor apart and went through the short block with a fine tooth comb. Luckily, other than the POS head nothing was damaged. Did a refresh of the block and went with AFRs the second go around...

For me it looks like it chunked off in one piece and it was just sitting there in the top of the head. My oil filter was clean and I didn't see any chuncks in the pan so I'm just going to call it good.

I'm trying to find a good deal on some Jesel sportsmans, Mohawks would be nice but the tech at Jesel advised me against it since they are the weakest rocker they offer.

I got these Harland Sharps when I was way early in the LS game and everyone warned me about them failing. I was crossing my fingers they wouldn't break but as you can see they only lasted about 2k mi and if you read my original post, I was just cruising on the highway when it let loose. Lucky I wasn't reving to the moon when it happened.

I'll probably have my Johnson lifters for sale here soon after I get this thing back together so keep an eye out for a good deal. Lol

Ah, man...hold on to those Johnsons and grab some GM Performance rockers...better than any after market stuff out there in my opinion and you'll miss those lifters down the road.

Why get rid of the Johnsons? I like johnson lifters, I have their link bars.

I have the comp short travel link bars in there already - I may keep them, but $700 on a shelf is a lot to just have sitting there, but who knows...I'm lazy and have so many other parts laying around, I'll probably end up keeping them.
