weld and regrind crank?

Question weld and regrind crank?

can the lq4/lq9 crank be welded to 4" and ground? If not what is the known maximum?

I doubt that it can be done. Plus you would have a lot of time and labor in doing so. If you are trying to re-work a cast crank....I would not waist the time, not where there are Forged cranks you can replace it with. We have a budget 5140 forged crank starting as low as 544.00! I am not trying to push product, but you would be wasting a lot of time and money.

I agree! You would have as much or more than $500 in welding and regrinding a crank.

no way I'd trust a crank thats been cut apart and welded back together....

They don't cut them and reweld them, they build up one side of the rod journals with weld, and offset-grind them to give the crank a longer stroke.
