here is what i'm thinking i want. a 370 turbo friendly some where around 9:1 compression and 6.125" rods. using a set of 317 heads and stock mls gaskets. also stock 3.622 stroke crank. I'll post a link to the form. thanks in advance.

You should really let your machinist do that. That way it is on him to do it correctly.

Bump- you need to know for sure the amount of overbore your going to use. These new motors from the people I know tell me they usually get by with a 20 over where an old SBC would need a 30 over.

Also go with the smallest bore you can get away with. This helps keep your bore from distorting under high pressure or RPM. Plus it keeps the temperature more stable then if you go whole hog.

I did a 350 sbc years ago with a 60 overbore just becouse I could use parts from a free motor to do this. In the end the temperature swings were pretty wild from street to freeway to stuck in traffic. It would run pretty cool "160" on the freeway, and if putting through traffic it would touch "200" and thats not very good.

if you don't mind me asking what did you pay for them? if you want you can just pm me. Did you ask them to make a 4" ls1 piston or a lq9 piston. I talked to one of the guys there last night and they weren't sure what a lq9 or lq4 was so I ask if he'd done any ls1 pistons. He said yeah sure have. I was said ok make a 4.010" version of that. After that we were on the right track.
