I didnt get audio either... look like a very nice high speed camera though.

So was the one on the left more like a Stocker?

What the hell happens right at 1 min 3 sec into the video. watch the spring on the left.

Do hydraulic lifters play any roll in dampening the oscillations?

Wow that was pretty wierd, I didn't even notice that at first. It starts oscillating with the valve still seated...hmmmm hollywood magic?

Look at the time in the upper left, it looks like each of those video segments is merged together to make a shorter video, and it just skips into a new section (and out shortly after)

So Grip..........inquiring minds want to know ............who's bed springs are these?
This video is a great illustration of why some of the early LS1 dual springs were breaking at near idle speeds. It's called spring surge and it occurs at different cycle frequencies depending on the springs length, wire diameter coil diameter and wire alloy. Watching high speed photography of a racing spring and rocker cycling 4500 times per minute is breath taking. The valve spring flexes in the mid section big time.

Thanks for the topic Grip. You're a constant wealth of valuable information.

Pretty cool. Looks like a 5 hp Briggs and Stratton to me. The spring on the right looks like a stock one as well as the spring on tappet design and the spring box.

It also looks like when the right spring is binding it is "unwinding" the coil. Did you notice the stem rotating when the spring uncompressed?
