Tuning with new cam?

Post Tuning with new cam?

I got an 04 5.3 silverado and im looking to put a comp cam xfi extreme cam in this next weekend. It also says i will need a programmer for the cam, but i already have a vortech supercharger on with tune so i was wondering if i will have to do much tuning after i intall the cam?

First, to give you a definitive answer, you should post the specs for the cam.

But the answer is yes, especially on the idle tuning. For sure fueling at the higher rpms will also need to be adjusted.

If you want to get the best results and ensure that your engine is running safely then retune for the cam.

Got the cam in i noticed major power gains, and my afr hasnt changed even at high rpms. I recommend that if any one puts comp cam ultra gold rocker arms with a 1:7:2 ratio in a ls1 that they get valve cover spacers or different valve covers cause they will hit the stock valve covers.
