Tri-Power Xtreme Cam? Other Recommendations Please?
#1
Hey guys. I've been seriously considering putting in a different cam in my Avalanche. I was hoping you guys would be able to help me out...
Essentially I am looking for a cam that is really good in the lower RPM range (need torque), good for daily driving, and has some what of a choppy idle, just to the point where it's noticeable, maybe slightly more. Also, I would prefer to get a cam that doesn't require me getting my heads reworked or whatever.
I called Comp Cams, they suggested I get the Tri-Power Xtreme. On a couple other forums, people have said that this cam wouldn't give me much improvement. Some people have told me I need to go up in the 224-228 range. On here it looks like 212/218 is a good low-end cam?
Any suggestions would be great. I do have a cat back exhaust and K&N CAI, but I still have the stock headers and such.
