Default Time to build a motor

Back in Feb. I bought a 2000 c5 LS1 with 59K miles for $500. Rain got into intake and sat in one cylinder. I wanted to build a forgen motor but the money isn't there for the build. So pulled the motor apart tonight see if I can take the block down to see what kind of work it will need. Also will be running the stock ls1 cam in till I can get my 216/218 lsa 114 out my 5.3 to see if o.k. to re-use. I have a lifter that taps for 30mins or 1sec on the driver side just depends on how it feels. I need to build a motor soon because the old 5.3 isn't getting any younger. The motor just rolled 166k and the lifters don’t like the cold weather right now. Here some pic's.

Cody that will be nice n/a motor and 317 will bring the compression up.
I am running the stock heads because the motor will be under boost and with stock heads I’ll be around 10:1.

I'm running a turbo as well. 317s actually brought it down to alil over 9.5:1 I think.

317s take it down closer to 9 doesn't it? A stock ls1 with 241s is 9.5 right?

Yes the ls1 is 10:1. I currently have 853 heads with 66cc chambers so going to 317 heads would bring the compression down.
