Stuck between a rock and a hard place, help?

Do like I did and just start buying parts, first being the block and hen all he bolt ons. When everything arrives find a reason to replace. Luckily my engine had a small coolant leak, not causing a problem, that was my excuse to my wife. She also asked how much I spent I was like 1 grand. Until she found out how much I really spent after he swap. She didn't get upset.

I have experienced the squeeling noise before. Turned out to be a failed lifter. Sounded just like a belt squeeling, but really loud! After replacing the lifters and cam, the bottom end went south because of all the debris from the lifter and cam embedding into the crank bearings. Your engine has 180k plus miles on the clock. You may want to freshen up the entire engine, imo. You probably have cam and lifter debris in the oil pan! Just my 2 cents.
