Default stock heads or mill em?

well ima be putting a set of 243s on my LQ4 in a couple months. i want the truck to hit mid 12s all day long. ima go with a 4000 yank converter, bolt ons, and a 226/226 cam. My question is what should i do with the heads? will stock 243s do or should i get them worked over? if so how much? im really ignorant when it comes to heads and how milling them effects power and what not. thanks fellas

I would pick your CR up close to a point going from 72 cc heads to 64 cc heads. I wouldn't mill them if it were me.

i was also looking into getting my 08 243's worked over when i do some other things. I havent been able to decide yet either. i was thinking of a pp and getting the valves worked over and deshrouding them. i have looked into the milling but havent found much info on that but i also dont know how compression ratios effect performance

Zippy did this w/o milling them and had good results.

I would get the compression I was after...I would say 11:1
and do the work to get it.

It sucks that CnCing costs so much!

i would go with a set of worked heads from VMAX and a cam to match it would be easyer to hit mid 12.s all day long
