World Products - Hot Rod 2/09 issue page 96. Good read. Good thing GM kept the bore centers the same

The companies website has a little snipet of it on there web-site.

I've heard this motor was coming, but now it seems to me to be a bit late.

The only advantage the SBC has over the LS are they bolt into the chassis with out mods, and upgrades are long been there. The distributer is much easier for guys to play with then the DIS system since many people have tons of parts for them.

For big hp guys the two blocks are pretty equal, and big HP blocks both seem to work quite well for both.

ls blocks are 6 bolt mains. I think you have just a little strength advantage there....

Yes, as the head bolt pattern, let alone the cooling, are completely different between the GenI and the GenIII. It does require a custom cam, pushrods, etc... and uses the GenIII firing order. There is a TON more rotating assembly options with the GENI but the GENIII only continues to gain support. This new block also has the GENIII deck height... allows use of all the GENIII intake manifolds.

I had plenty of gen 1's, and with good heads they still run with the best. I have Iron eagle 215's and they are flat awesome so the new platinums must be insane.

As for LS versions they have all the new tech, and are not that hard to make fit into an older car. I have a 73 Buick Riviera boat tail that I would love to put a 5.3 into for driving.

So I personally don't see the need to hybrid the two gens. Also for the marloboroman stock 2 bolt SBC's with arp studs hold 600 horse for quite awhile its all in the upgrades.

There is a company out there that makes a distributor conversion for the LS engines, saw it in person. Wegner Performance
