sewing machine sound
#21
Anyone had any luck on getting rid of the "sewing machine sound" as a result of a cam swap?
I listned to it today and it is a slight ticking sound. Also as the rpms go higher the sound gets a little faster.

Contact your cam manufacturer and find out if it's lobes are ground on a smaller base circle. It is very common that it is. Comp typically grinds their cams on a .05 smaller base circle, requiring a .025 longer pushrod to maintain the previous rocker arm geometry.
