Default Rods

For those that didn't know the part number for the LQ4 and the LQ9 Rods are the same so there is no differance in strength. That is at least for 2005.

in order of connecting rod strength:
LS2
pre-'05 LQ9
pre-'05 LQ4

however the lq4 has lower compression so is therefore able to run a little more boost but thats another point

only problem is the ls2 wasnt used in the comparo in that write-up

i believe the ls2 had stronger rods in them than the LQ9 - 95% sure ( see moregrip's thread on his blower, shortblock, etc. install)

The pre 05's are strong, look to see what guys have put them threw, 500+ hp at the crank and 6500+ rpms on a regular basis, without issue, so that means that the new engines 05+ you can really beat the hell out of them
