just outa curiosity...the 1.8 roller rockers give more lift right? what would they be like with a low lift 212/218? now before you guys say just buy a bigger cam. imagine the guy just had these two components sitting around. what kinda lift is going to be generated? better to just stick with the cam. educate me on the rockers...i guess what i wanna know is is the extra hp from more lift gonna be worth it or hardly noticible?

They give more lift and increase ramp speeds.When I used them with a stock cam my old 5.3 gained about 15 peak horsepower and about 10 horsepower average increase throughout the powerband.

 

it will increase your lift by about 5.8%
A .500 lift cam for 1.7 rockers will give you .529 lift

In reality, your duration will go up slighly as well. The amount will depend on your lobe profile. (probably not a noticable amount?)

 

.529/1.7=.311, .311*1.8=.560 lift
