Default Rocker bolt sealant / threadlocker

On the heads I got, the intake rocker bolt hole opens into the intake runner. What is the best sealant to run on the intake rocker bolts? Also, do you all use loctite on the bolts? What does GM run from the factory? Thanks

I was going to use Toyota FIPG when I did mine, that stuff is very forgiving. Maybe some RTV or Teflon out of the tube? Maybe try shooting a PM to Richard at WCCH and seeing what he suggests. I usually use loc-tite on the rocker bolts, but don't think that it will mix well with RTV.

I used red loc-tite on my rocker bolts.

I'd return the heads to TSP and ask for another set. I wouldn't be happy if they punched through the ports. It's not "normal" as you're going to hear. The new CNC program they have doesn't take as much meat out of the ports. (or so I hear)

I'm pretty sure all of the tsp heads have exposed rocker arm holes. Even the $2500 AFR heads have the rocker arm holes punched thru into the intake runner.

According to my search on ls1tech, they recommend putting a sealant on the intake rocker bolt. I'm wondering if just straight loctite will work? And which color loctitre

Here's a good thread I found: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...arm-bolts.html

It looks like permatex thread sealer on the middle of the bolt and then loctite on the top of the bolt is the way to go

Sounds like a good plan...think I'll go this route when I do mine I like the blue loctite for bolts that may need to be removed again btw.

I still don't like it. Exposed rocker bosses is just shoddy work IMO.
