Rebuilding a 6.0 best options?
#1
Well I am going to be rebuilding my Denali's 6.0. I'm currently running an intercooled whipple at 12psi making about 500whp with the stock 6.0 . I want to make around 650-750whp. What engine combo would be best to reach that goal? I would like to keep my whipple or add a turbo, but the instant torque the whipple provides is something I want to maintain. I also want to build the motor so I don't need to open it again and be able to have a reliable 650-750whp motor.
What engine size is best for my goals? 408, 370, etc? What heads, Valves, cams, are you guys seeing the best results from with a blower?

I think the smaller 370 motor would be the way I would go. Just put a good forged rod and piston in there and pulley the crap out of the blower!
Something like a Wiseco dished piston since they come with a stainless/napier ringset and a good h-beam rod like a Callies Compstar would do the trick!
There are a couple ways to do the heads cam. It doesn't take anything real crazy on the cam but a good set of heads w/ upgraded stainless valves would be a good idea. You can probably make that kind of power with a ported stock casting but the thicker deck surface of an aftermarket casting head will add some reliability as far as head gaskets are concerned.
Let me know if you have any questions or need any other info. and I can get you fixed up with everything you need!
Thanks!
