Rebuild 6.0L help

Ahhh....clean parts. Always nice to work with.
Good to see this coming along nicely.
Is that an axle shaft near the license plate on the back of the work bench? What would it go to?

I was going to paint the block, but it doesn't look too bad. Plus, those ugly manifolds pretty much kill it anyway. Night and day from the vette. I spent tons of hours on the vette engine bay.

Well, looks like a short day. Found a crack in the flexplate. Wonder what the odds of a Napa, Advance, etc having one on a Sunday are.

I just noticed your oil sensor on the back of the deck...is it new because you snapped the old one trying to get the motor in or out of the engine bay?
Don't worry, been there, done that a few times.

We did break off a few manifold bolts, but they were pretty easy to get out.

When you're hard pressed to get the job complete, the GM dealership can be your best friend for parts. It's just too bad the convenience of having those parts in stock means extra cost.
