Ahhh....clean parts. Always nice to work with.

Good to see this coming along nicely.

Is that an axle shaft near the license plate on the back of the work bench? What would it go to?

lol, good eye. I don't think I find a place in the truck for that. It is the stock output shaft from the vette.

I was going to paint the block, but it doesn't look too bad. Plus, those ugly manifolds pretty much kill it anyway. Night and day from the vette. I spent tons of hours on the vette engine bay.

Trucks are supposed to be dirty, and the only real reason the hood should ever be open is to change the oil and jumpstart Fords.

Well, looks like a short day. Found a crack in the flexplate. Wonder what the odds of a Napa, Advance, etc having one on a Sunday are.

edit: no one open has one. to be continued, grrrr......

I just noticed your oil sensor on the back of the deck...is it new because you snapped the old one trying to get the motor in or out of the engine bay? Don't worry, been there, done that a few times.

Lol, nope you missed on that one. Replaced it b/c the old one was in pretty bad shape. I made sure I ran the chain on the opposite side of that sensor.

We did break off a few manifold bolts, but they were pretty easy to get out.

Considering what the dealer wants for it, I might just fly out there!

When you're hard pressed to get the job complete, the GM dealership can be your best friend for parts. It's just too bad the convenience of having those parts in stock means extra cost.
