so i have a 5.3, patriot performance cam,GEN 3, stock heads, LS7 lifters.
what would be a good length for my pushrods? someone told me stock and i dont trust myself with the length checker

You should ALWAYS measure the length. The easiest way to do this is to turn the bolt down on the rocker until there is zero lash (rocker tip is just touching the valve tip). Count the turns until you have reached your 22 FT LBS of torque. Most people shoot for about 1 1/2 turns. You don't need a pushrod length checker, but they are a nice tool to have. This method is for non adjustable rockers.
