Porting oil pump info????
Been looking for about an hour and can't find any info on porting a oil pump. Anyone have a link???

I am going to just touch up my pump a little. Right where the oil enters the pump. C the little ledge in their. I would just smooth that out. I believe thats all their is to it. Just less disrupted oil flow. Be careful not to hog out too much and make the pump wall week.

I posted some information on this topic a couple of times on LS1tech.com. I have tried to post a link to those posts, but search doesn't work so I can't find them. Here's a quick before and after picture of some of what you are trying to do.
Before Attachment 145757 After Attachment 145758 You are trying to reduce the resistance to flow on the inlet and outlet sides of the pump which will increase the flow rate. I didn't change the spring tension on the pressure regulator at all. I just disassembled, inspected, ported, cleaned and reassembled everything. I hope that this helps. Steve |
