Default pcm injector drivers

Can someone outline the two types of injector drivers and does GM use the same type in all there vehicles. Specifically wondering about the 5.3 vs the 8.1

As far as I know all GM vehicles use a high impedence driver/injector. You usually only see low impedance setups on high hp setups that require 60lb+ injectors. I dont know all the specifics but it has something to do with the large injectors ability to run at low pulse widths.

I was talking with delphi today (they have great customer service )and started wondering about it especially with the differences in fuel rail pressure between the 5.3 and 8.1 I thought maybe the drivers were different also.
