I think that all speed shops should have a wave files on what each specific cam they sell sounds like @ at idle, since that is what 90% or the people on the internet base their purchase on. No point in throwing out confusing specs @ .050" just sound files! I predict who ever picks this idea up first and runs with it will have record profits next year...

for the most part the lsa, which is the last figure listed when refering to a cam, is what dictates the choppy or smooth idle. the one you talked about with the 116 *lsa will idle pretty smooth. 114*lsa will be noticeably rougher, and 112* will chop. this is a generalized statement fwiw look them up on youtube theirs tons of sound clips.

What are your goals for the truck? What is your setup now? Stock torque converter?

yes. i used to have a cam and stall in it and put them in my SS. this truck has a lq4 with the stock tranny and converter. i plan on putting a small stall in it. maybe a 2800-3000. somewhere in that range. looking for a cam that sounds good and runs good bu is not to terribly harrd on my tranny. the motor only has like 30xxx on it but the tanny has alot so i dont want anything to crazy. i plan on doing the hd2 shift kit with and a huge trans cooler. it already has the vette servo and is shifting perfectly. just dont want something to hard on my tranny. but want it to sound good and make alot of power. just trying to find my limit.

The camshaft will not be hard on your tranny, only you can be hard on your transmission...

The cam you listed has fairly similar specs to the Vinci Trucker that I will be putting in my LQ9...as mentioned it will idle fairly smoothly in a 6.0 since their isn't a whole lot of overlap with the "relatively" small intake duration and wider LSA.

Scott- if you get that cam & want something a little more aggressive- I will trade you my 224/224 581/581 112 for the cam you are thinking about buying. I need a torque came for my 2500HD.
