Default Ok tr224 or comp 224/224 .581/.581 112

I think I have narrowed this down. Would this cam do me better then the tr224. My set up will be as follows..

05 lq4
4.10's
lt's
custom tuning
intake
tb stall verter

I just want to here a lil about this cam, if anybody else has heard or is running it, I no of 1 person so far. I see the tr224 does good in the 5.3, the comp has just a little more lift, so would it be better suited then the tr224. So if ya cam guys could tell me between these to what would be better it would ease my mind and i don't think i would need to ask anymore dumb questions, forgive me for being ignorent.. Thanks JOHN

I would go with the comp cam with the XER lobes... I think I've read somewhere here that it has more of an aggressive lobe??? thats the one that will be going in on my 5.3 some time soon....

The Comp 224-.581'' is just a better cam due to the more aggressive lobes which lead way to more peak lift, more duration @ higher lift, and less duration at lower lift. More peak lift and duration is a plus, because our heads pass more air at higher lift. So, if you hold the valve open for a longer period of time at this HIGHER lift... You will move more air. Right?

Less duration at lower lift, due to the aggressiveness of the lobes create less overlap when using an exact same LSA.

Lastly, if the valve train can support the lobes, which it can, the more aggressive lobe should be used. The XE-R profile isn't going to make gobs of more power everywhere but, it is a step in the right direction if that makes sense.

OK now i have done a lil reading(ls1Tech) on the xer lobes. I heard that it/they are fairly hard on the valvetrain , Some were saying about having to change springs about every 40k or so. Would the stock reatiners and all be ok. I will have new rods, a good set of springs.. Thanks For any reply's JOHN

Stock retainers are fine I bought the comp ones and they looked EXACTLY like the stockers. My 180K motor had virtually no signs of wear on the retainers just oil stained.

i have the comp 224 with the 581 on a 112 and the tune is hard to get down right. i 2 footed mine untill the tune, and still have to sometimes. mine will idle but when i come to a stop it still wants to hunt idle real bad. but the choppy idle and to top end pull it has, i would not give anything for it.
as far as the tb stall, dont know how that will work. i had a 2500 stall when i first installed mine, now i have a 3800. i believe it will work alot better with at least a 3000 or better
