Default no oil to rocker arms

I just got my motor back together last week, I had a bent rod, I replaced 1 rod and 1 piston as well as all the rod and main bearings, after it ran for a couple minutes I noticed a noise, I shut it off and there is no oil getting to the rocker arms, I have roughly 45 psi of oil pressure at idle. any ideas?

Describe the noise that you heard.

How do you know no oil is getting to the rockers? Very little oil actually gets up to the rockers, especially at idle. I envisioned geysers of oil under the valve covers, but the oil actually just dribbles out. At higher RPM's oil will actually start to spay a little bit.

Here's a video I took of mine: 2012 11 13 18 05 12 411 - YouTube

last night I pulled the rear lower oil galley plug on the side of the block and I don't have oil coming out of it when cranking how is it possible for my gauge to work with no pressure to the rear oil galley?

Hmm, I wonder if you might have a problem with the dumbell behind the rear cover. Are you absolutely sure there is no oil at the top?

I'm not sure how you can have an oil pressure reading from the sending unit at the top but have no oil in the rear galley. I'd try a mechanical gauge in the sending unit hole.

Maybe your lifters aren't pumped up yet. If they're not pumped up then they wont send oil to the top. I'd dump oil on the rockers, run it and wait awhile.

Run a mechanical oil gauge for sure.

The engine may not be spinning fast enough while cranking to move oil. Does the gauge show oil pressure while you're cranking? You could try cranking with the plugs out, that way it'll spin faster and have a better chance of making oil pressure. IIRC, with the plugs out mine would crank fast enough to create oil pressure.

Is there no oil coming up on both banks? Did you check both sides?

You'll need a fair bit of engine speed to notice the oiling.
