thats only ~395rwhp with 18% loss...not that great for a heads/cam intake LS1

Did you look at the cam specs? Very little more than an LS6 cam. Not your typical heads/cam swap. I wouldn't expect much more than 10 extra hp from that cam vs the LS6 cam. It should idle like stock. Almost 500 fwhp on 350 cubes with a stock like idle. Doesn't sound too bad to me. I wonder what this setup would have done with a 230/600/112lsa cam. That would be my idea of what a heads/cam swap should be to make a few horses (and impress a few folks) and still be very streetable.

in my opinion, if they were going to throw a vid out on net like the did, they should have done a real comparison betweem an ls6, ls2, fast, or whatever. the cam they used most people would even waste their time with somethin that small. most people that are interested in swapping to a bigger intake have a reason, they are typically running a big cam and good set of heads, so why have a set up close to stock?
