easy answerd. those heads have a flow number ppl think is well but are actually inefficent. they use stock 2.18 valves with a 245cc runner and flow 330 stock on intake. use 1.6 exhaust with a smaller exhaust runner and poor exhaust flow.

ppl look at the 330 and think they are great heads, fact is the air is actually moving slowly and dont have the velocity as you would with a smaller cc runner and smaller intake valve. so some say they need huge spilts to make the lack of velocity work for them.

designers have gotten it to work best this way where as the catheral port heads flow closer in intake/exhaust and can use a much closer split or even single pattern cam.

I wonder what the life time of the springs, valve train is going to be with a even more aggres lobe then a XFI lobe..

I have about 10k on my cam, and i shift pretty high, and i don't have any problems... But i have dual springs rated to .650...

Mine is a special FTI Lobes.... which is similar to XFI or LSR lobes... They are asymmetrical lobes if i recall correctly... It is a comp cam, but the lobes are only available to FTI, i believe, i may be wrong....

Well I think I going to try one either the centri blower cam or the rectangle port 400+ci cam. I have 72cc PRC L92/LS3 heads with stainless valves on my 408 9.25:1 with 15psi procharger. I dont see why my PRC Dual Springs would not work there good to .660 lift and are 390lb open otherwise let me know. I currently have a Texas Speed & Performance 233/239 .595/.603, 112 LSA. It just seems like these cams are monsters my cam/vic JR intake/low CR and 3600rpm stall already make my truck a slug under 3000 Im sure it cant get much worse.


243/259 .624/.624 116LSA
Best cam for high rpm power in race application when using a centrifugal blower.
3000-7200 RPM

247/263 .624/.624 114LSA
2400-7000rpm
400+ci high rpm applications with major modifications and rectangular port cylinder heads
