Need to know the difference between the 799 and the 243 heads!

Only the ls6 243's have the sodium filled valves, the ones that came on the ls2 and 4.8/5.3 and the 799's do not have them. The ls6 ones also came with the yellow springs.

Hey thanks man... That helps alot i thought all 243's had sodium filled valves.

not all 243 heads came with sodium valves...only the 243 castings used on LS6 engines came with sodium valves. all of the others use your standard valves.

I have a 2011 Silverado I have the 243 heads and my uncle has a 2013 Silverado but he has the 799 heads (why and which one are better)

I want to say that one was die cast and the other is sand cast. both the same design. I wouldn't say one is better than the other.

My 07+ 4.8 has 243 and my brothers 2010 5.3 has 799.
