Default need info on ly6 6.0

Has anyone put the new ly6 6.0 in a 99-02 truck?
Is like an lq4 or lq9 swap or more indepth work needed?
My buddy found a deal at auction for 8 complete ly6 long blocks.
These are marine engines brand new 0 miles.

SPECS:
Indmar power vortec ly6
6.0L,400HP at 5600rpm
9.6 to 1 comp
high flow aluminum heads
3.89 bore x 3.62 stroke
varible valve timing

What is needed to work in 99-02 trucks?
Can you delete the vvt?

Nope, that'd be my 5.7L.

LY6 is 101.6mm x 92mm.

Correct me if I'm wrong but to disable VVT you'd need to swap lifters and tune it out, or is that just for DoD?

The ly6 motors should have 58x rather than 24x crank reluctors which makes swapping them into earlier truck more of a challenge. This means they require then newer style e38 or e67 pcms to run them amongst other things. If you're willing to do the electrical work to swap one in it can definitely be done but it's not a drop in and tune deal like the lq4/9 swaps.

I think the bore on that description is wrong. There was no 5.7L made with VVT afaik.

The stock LY6's are rated around 350-360hp in less than 10000lb gvw trucks. They put out more power but, with the stock tune it averages out to about what the rating is. A few tweaks of the ECM and they come ALIVE!!!

What heads come on the LY6? Cam specs? Are they a marine only application? Years ago marine engines used to have a lot more goodies within the block and usually better heads... I doubt that's true nowadays with newer V8's though, I could be wrong too
