Hey L33Z71, thats not bad with your crew cab, by any chance was it a 4X4?
What size tires were you running?
I have 4:56 w/35's I haven't even bothered going to the track (too slow), but I thought with a cam and converter it could be fun. I think that I would definitely run a shorter tire to get full use of my gearing.

Dmix,

It was a 2wd, with minimal weight reduction. I weighed in at about 4950 with me and the truck. I was running 275-60-17s(30" diam), but my best runs were on 27" et streets in the rear. My best 60' times were 2.1's, had I been able to get those down, I would have been in the 13's easy.

thats cool, yeah i know w/ my 5.3 its not gonna be a speed demon but i need to wake it up a little bit, I shouldn't have any problems keeping my drivability w cam, converter, and tune right?

As long as you keep your head about you, make a sensible choice with parts and match parts up well, there should be no reason why you shouldn't be able to daily drive your truck for a long time like that.

So many people make a choice of going with a huge cam and converter and then decide that its too big and have to get a daily driver car to even things out.

yeah i understand that whole deal, i actually have a car that i drive most of the time. my truck is my baby it may sound wierd but it barely sees rain and i don't think it's ever seen salt. I have a car cause i work out of a gravel pit i my car gets trashed there. I usually only drive the truck on weekends to go goof around or to haul the wheelers around. I still want the option to be able to drive where ever. I'm gonna keep doing some research to help me make the right choice i am in no hurry to buy anything. Right now the best research is talking to people that have used stuff in the past or are still using so keep me posted if anything new comes around.
Thanks
