To give you better acceleration and keep you in your engines sweet spot I would put in a Yank TT 3000. That will cut down your 60 ft and you will already have a stall when you're ready for a cam.

A 2800rpm stall minimum will always help get you out of the hole quickly. That is what I have always been told would be the best/first mod to do to any vehicle that you want to be quicker. Next is to step up on rear end gearing. Depending upon your tire size, calculate what RPM you want the truck to run in OD at cruise speed. From there, calculate the desired gear required. Remember, your truck is driven on the street more than the track so get gears that are realistic for your application.
