Default my turn for push rod questions

ok, i need to valve springs. i'm running 10psi and around 4800 rpm my eng stops pulling. i've decide to go with patriot golds. so here is my question. can i run my stock push rods? i ask this because i want to change my cam but i don't have the money now. so i don't want to change push rods just to have to change them again in a couple months.

I wouldn't run the stock pushrods, they're definitely a weak link IMO.

you can run the stock pushrods for now. look at this way. instead of bending a valve youll bend a pushrod. they are cheap tho like 70 bucks or so

ive been running the ls6 cam with the 7.4 hardened rods with no problems or added valvetrain noise. been around 6 months. From what ive collected in that argument, you just lose some preload on the lifter, no valve lift loss. 90 bux on ebay for the pushrods comp 7.4's

what do they "recomend" for ls6 cam? and if its like 7.425 can you use those with stock cam? what would happen if you bent a rod? just a lose in power or a lose in a head/motor? never researched this part of the build i guess i should have.

You will have a dead hole. Run the stock ones until you can buy the hardened versions, but measure them to see what size you actually need.

well when its said and done i would like to spin to say 6000 maybe 6500 but no more than that. this is why i was looking at the 2002 ls6 cam. but until i get the cam i figure no more than 6000 rpm if it will even pull that high. right now i would be happy to spin to 5000rpm but it will bearly do 4500. i will post a pic of a log from the track.
