My 408 is cursed!!!!!! HELP!

As crazy as this may sound its better for me to drop the dif, just enough to get the pan out. I have access to a lift. The o-ring is the first place Im going, just cause I have had a bad feeling about the damn thing from the get go.
I really don't think I should start it again until I get it fixed, it sounds that bad!
