Max preload with LS7 lifters?
Hey guys
I just double checked the preload in my new 5.3L. I've got right at .100" preload with 7.35" pushrods. Seems like the high limit since these lifters bottom out at .120" preload. I've got a bit of ticking at cruise so I double checked my measurements during build. Looks like I mocked it up with stock thickness head gaskets, which threw off the measurements when I used .040" cometics for final assy. Derp.
So if I were to buy shorter pushrods, would you guys go with 7.325 or 7.30"? Do LS7 lifters like .075" or .050" preload? I've read several forums that claim LS7 lifters are designed for .075" preload but I wanted to double check. Thanks!

well the shop that did mine used 7.350" push rods when they put the milled .030" heads, ls7 lifers, and stock .051" mls head gasket.
from what i could measure its in the .080-.095" preload range.
