That is what I have always used.. I just stuff rags into the internal passages so no debri gets in them and then wipe everything down with lacquer thiner. But to each his own..

sorry to get off topic in your post/thread..

Looks good! Can't wait to see it run! I'm at the mercy of the machine shop right now. All I can do in the meantime is get my versafueler wired in, but that doesn't make the truck go

Are you having to space the front cover to fit that double timing chain in there?

I will find out tonight, if it hits Im clearancing the inside of the cover.

I have some old POS 5.3 heads and a whole set of extra engine covers so I just bolt those on to do any cleaning I need to, thats what i used to protect everything while I painted it. The excess that is where it shoudlnt be is from the first time I painted it by taping everything off.

Z06 you ever figure out what happened to the intake?

I still have them, Im trying to sell them but no dice yet
I agree, I think they were the cause of my oil consumption issues since my cylinder walls were absolutely spotless.

Yea, I put a Rollmaster double roller set in our 6.0l and the stock cover went on without a problem.

Cool, I ordered a Rollmaster double timing set today. Was only $35 more than the LS2 set that I had previously ordered, I figure if I'm spending this much $$ on a motor I better not **** it up trying to save $35.....
