i have a 1997 c1500 chevy silverado with the 350 with the spider injection. i am thinking about putting a lt4 cam in my truck that came out of the fbody cars. what all has to be done to put this cam in. do i have to change the springs or anything. all i have done to the truck is all bolt ons and i have a tune. if ya'll have any other cams that are better let me know. i am looking for a drop in kind of thing with a little work. thanx for the help

 

you will need beehive style valve springs with special comp retainers to achieve the proper lift on your heads without machining them. You will also need to have the PCM retuned.

The LT4 production cam or ZZ4 cam are pretty well liked on OBS trucks and you can usually get away with the stock converter with those cams.

I agree on better valve springs. Maybe a set of nice rockers also. Its one of those 'might as wells ' ya know
