Default LSX376-B15 or Built 6.0

I have been checking around lately and getting quotes on getting my engine built. Its a 6.0 out of a 2000 Chevy 2500. When I say built I mean cam, heads, bored .030 over, forged pistons, forged rods, stock crank, etc. Well anyways I got the quote back from a local builder and started doing some research. After doing a little research I found that I could get the LSX376-B15 for about a $1,000 more and the LSX offers a forged crank and more cubic inches. Would y'all go with the crate engine or build my current engine. I am really leaning towards the crate engine especially since it comes with a warranty. By the way my goals are 600-650 to the wheels. Also if any of y'all have any experience with the LSX376-B15 feel free to chime in. Thanks.

I found 1 user who reported an issue with the ring gap not being set correctly and it causing a ton of issues with no help/support from Chevy on it.

That would scare me away.

A very similar thread was posted last week, https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...lsx427-542732/

It comes down to how much you want to spend. Either one could do 650 to the wheels with a turbo without much trouble.

I'd just toss a set of pistons and rods in the 6.0 and turbo it.

Save yourself the cash and spend it on other things.

What parts are beign used to make your rebuild cost as much as the B15? That will help us make the decision.

For the most power you will want to swap cams with the B15.
