Default Ls7 rocker arms

I was curious about running the LS7 exhaust rockers on my 5.3 since they are 1.8 ratio.A new set of GM LS7 rockers can be had for $150-200.
BUT there are mixed views on this some say it works then some say no.

WHY because a ls7 valve is at a 11* angle vs the standard 15* angle which puts the roller on the rocker arm past center of the valve stem.

Who has run this setup for a few miles? I know theres a few people who ordered these rockers i found some old posts

Here is a pic i found showing how far off it is from center.

My friend did this to a Camaro and it tore up the end that pushes the valve down. Idk how

That's some pretty ugly valvetrain geometry there. Not anything that I'd recommend doing.

tdrumm ordered a LS7 exhaust rocker to try it out, and just like the picture, it was way off. Those couple of degrees make a big difference

the alignment issue couldnt be fixed by shimming the rocker arm rails?

Apparently it causes coil bind and destroys valve guides... at least I have a cheap set of heads to send to the machine shop now

looks like they would need to go down further looking at the picture. that valve geometry is gonna destroy the valve tip and the valve guides.

You would never be able to shim these to work, the length from the fulcrum to the rocker foot is longer. Just get some 1.8 rocker arms for the proper head, or find a cam. If you could find a used cam, it would more than likely cost less than the LS7 exhaust rockers.
