Ive heard alot of bad things about the ls7 lifters also, but maybe its just hear say.
I would think they would work well in a high rpm app. tho.

the ls7 lifters are fine if you run the right pushrod length

+1, that's what I'm going to be putting in my LQ9 I've actually heard that the expensive Comp R lifters (or whatever they're called) are junk. Just be sure to get your lifter pre-load spot on, as from what I've read, most of the LS7 lifter failures seem to be on engines where the installer didn't properly measure lifter preload, or just went by what they heard in a "what length pushrod" thread...

What's the correct length? Most of the LS1/6 guys say 7.350. Most of the truck guys say stock 7.400 is fine...

You need a push rod checker to get the right length. they are like 20 bucks

There are too many variables to play it by ear... Do it right the first time so you don't have to do it again, just my $.02

I hope the ls7s are good. i had a set delivered today for my new engine build. I talked to alot of people before i bought them and everyone told me to go with the ls7 or the cts-v race lifters if your willing to spend the money on them. I hated my comps, click click click click all day long.

Right, but checking the pushrod length and then ordering the right ones adds days/weeks onto the build, which isn't really an option when it's your only vehicle. I was hoping someone could throw in their two cents.
