grey matter 04- thanks for that link.

I guess these heads won't be beneficial for the cam I have.

Run the 243 heads they will work great.
Plenty people run the 243s with a 600 lift cam

They'll be better than the 706 casting heads that you currently probably have. You just won't see the full potential of that cam with them as you would a set of good ported heads.

IMHO, it's still worth the upgrade if you don't have the spare cash lying around for a set of P&P heads.

Here is the chart I used when I made my decision.

It's been posted a few times, and I think that's where that other link got its data.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll run these then. I'll start a project thread once I'm ready to hopefully get more opinions.

Does anyone think I'll have PTV issues if I have them milled .030"?

No, most guys mill them .030 to get back to the correct compression. I'm also running a .040 head gasket, but I'm not running a cam with near that much lift. May be worth a call to the guys at Texas Speed.

They talked me out of a .027 head gasket because of possible PTV issues.

I appreciate the info. I'll call a few shops to see what they say.
