cause it Hot Hot Hot...

nothing. its all about what you want your truck to do and where you want your power at. cams are all similar, whether they are a lunati cold cam or a GM hot cam.

I would throw in a stall, these trucks dont seem to make the power down low. We put a stall in my friends crew cab short short bed with no cam and it was night and day. I would go with a mild cam, maybe a tr220 and a tb stall cause their cheap.

GM Hot cam FTL.

my 212/218 and stall work nice. i was pulling 2.1 60ft's with 20" rims/tires and 3.23 gears n/a..... spinning a pretty good bit.

only thing that i've heard good about the hot cam, is the way it sounds. it really has some lope at idle. do a search on ls1tech forum, a lot of f-body guys run it.

the hot cam is to big for you!

People need to calm down on these huge cams. Elaborate on what you are wanting. If you want a snappy throttle with just more low end and al ittle more top end I woud look at a custom grind in the area of 208/212 or 210/212. Great for torque, anything bigger will only pull torque into your higher rpms and create more HP at 4500 + rpms.

I've been looking at the same cam, I have close to the same mods as you with a 80 shot so I'm interested in opinions as well, I want some lope and more mid to upper power? I will add a tq when I get a cam, probably the tb one. From what I'v read it stalls around 2600 behind a 5.3? On a cheap budget myself so a $700+ tq is out of the question. i can get the tb one for around 100.
