I had the 206/212, then went to the LS1 cam in my old 5.3 I wont say I didnt notice any gains over stock, but I couldnt really tell any difference between the two. IMO neither is worth the trouble.

Also, as far as gaskets, they are all silicone o-ring style gaskets and designed to be reusable, so your gasket cost should be less if youre comfortable re-using them

My 206/212 was good for a 8mph and .9 gain in the 1/4 mile...cam and tuning only, on the stock converter. Well worth it IMO Night and day difference over stock

I thought that they were, and I'll just have to see what they look like after I get everything apart, they've got 150,000 on them.

I'm just used to having a big stick.

I'm gonna go a little milder with my next one I believe. May try something like a 215/220 in the 4.8, or maybe a 218/222 in the 6.0. Haven't really decided yet. My experience with smaller cams was less impressive than with the larger cams. That's all

I don't know, I think I might have over-researched myself (borderline confused myself), I'm just nervous that I'm going to pick a cam that's not going to be what I want... Although you do have me looking at the 212/218 - 114 and a 216/220 - 114. It's saying a powerband of 1200 - 6000 for the 212/218 and 1300 - 6200 for the other, which is where 99% of my driving is done at (my shift points are at 5700, but when I have BB retune for the cam I'll push it to 6k)

One problem I run into is that I'm in a small *** town, my dad's been out of engine building for long enough that he's gotten that "don't fix what ain't broke" mentality, my cousin thinks I need to put the biggest cam that I can get to fit (He's just that way). Other than me, and my cousin (who's still 45 miles away), no one around here mods engines past a CAI and catbacks... hell, a custom tune was unheard of around here until I did it. So I don't have anyone's around here that I can see run, or hear, so I'm limited to what I see on youtube.

I think even if I went with that cam, I'd go with yellow springs, lift would be too close to max for me to be comfortable with with the stock springs. I've already conceided to the fact that I'm going to have to change springs. Not a huge deal, it'll just take longer to do the swap. There's just so many cam options it makes my head spin.
