Default ls1 cam

im getting ready to get an ls1 block in the next week. im trying to figure the best cam to get for this engine. im wondering if the tr224 114 is the biggest cam i can get and still have it sound stock (kind of want a semi fast sleeper). i have a 3000 stall, corsa, stock cats and can get a retune from nelson for it. i know some people were saying the tr224s were a little big for extended cabs but i figure with a 5.7 and the stall it might be perfect.

I ran a 224 cam on my 5.3L and it was slightly understalled. I think it'll be a good match for the LS1.

Yah i don't think it will sound stock even with the 114lsa unless maybe you have the idle bumped up..

You could barely hear any lope in my 5.3 and there will be even less in a 5.7l! Turn up the idle to 750 and it'll sound stock with the 224.

the 224 would be a decent sized cam, it should sound fairly stock especially with the extra cubes of the LS1. on upping the idle, you can do that until you dont have any lope too.
