Default LQ9 with LS3 Heads - PTV Issues?

I have an LQ9 with ported GMPP factory LS3 heads unmilled. I plan on running a Brian Tooley Stage 2 Cam - 227/242 .614"/.592" 122+6.

Does anyone know if I will have any PTV issues?

I would bet not due to the wide LSA. Your lift isnt outrageous either. Just my opinion though as I have never run the combo so I will let the experts chime in. You may want to PM Skeet as he has probably tested PTV clearance with the LS3 heads more than anyone.

BT spec that cam per your setup? BT is no dummy if he did run with it, if you feel theres an or could be a issue then measure PTV clearance

Check it...the first time you have a PTV problem and dont check it before running the engine will be the last time you dont check.

The real answer is: I don't know. You could check it and know the answer or you can listen to someone who has never run that exact setup tell you you'll be fine. It is pretty easy to check.

ALWAYS measure. i dont care if it's as common as a 220/220 that half the internet runs. my last cam was ground incorrectly. the ICL measured out to 110 when it was supposed to be 106. luckily i didnt start flycutting based on the incorrect cam.

once i got the correct cam, i expected it to clear on the tight side. i had to cut .090 from the piston to get .070 clearance. measure.

Yes he did.

I am going to measure tonight using the dial indicator method. Hopefully flycutting is not required. Crossing fingers.
