After more thinking last night, I'm 95% sure I'm going to do stock 243s. While I'd love to do some CNC'ed 243s from AI, the extra $1K I won't spend will help towards buying a built transmission. I'm not sure on the cam yet. I might call EPS and see what they think, as people are raving about them on Tech.
Any suggestions on a cam? RCSB weighs around 4400 pounds with me in it, 4.10s, LPP headers, Yank SST3600 converter, LQ9 with stock 243s and possibly a TBSS/NNBS intake and throttle body.

4.10 + 3600 verter + rcsb = no traction. Just throwing that out there

Yeah I was thinking something in the low 230s for a cam.
My plan is to call EPS and talk to them. I've heard great things about their lobe designs on Tech so I think that's where I'll go to. From what I've read, stock 243s on an LQ9 will put me right at 11.0 compression or just a hair under, basically an iron LS2, so I should be fine with pump gas.
And yes I know 4.10s + a 3600 converter = zero traction, but hey, no traction is a common theme around this website. Haha.
Now to find a decent deal on 243s...

How high do you want to rev it? I shift mine at 6300 with the stock heads and a 222/226. If you didnt wanna go much higher I wouldnt go much bigger. If it were me I would aim for 6500-6600 and a 226/230 or so on a 114. This is still your daily driver so going too big might make it kinda crappy in traffic and stuff... but its enough to make it an absolute screamer in that RCSB while keeping more than enough low end for that 3600. With slicks I see a high mid 12 in your future.

i have an 06 gmc sierra vortecmax with pacesetter headers, true dual 3" exhaust with a pair of flowmaster super 40 series, diablo sport trinity programer, an AEM brute force cold air with an poweraid throttle body spacer and i was going to put a set of ls6 243 heads on and i was wondering if could still use pump gas with an 11:1 compression?
