Default Lq4?

What years of the LQ4 are a direct replacement on my 2001 Chevrolet Silverado? I only ask because a used parts dealer told me that the 03-05 LQ4 would not work in my truck and would not sell me an engine.

The only ones that aren't are the 99-00 with the longer crank snout on the back. All others will drop right in. The guy you talked to doesn't know what he's talking about.

The 03-07' should work. There are some differences in the internals so they don't show them as being interchangable, but they are.

Yeah, that's a very good deal. I've been pricing them lately for the wife's Tahoe.

are you swapping the Z06 cam into the LQ4 from your truck?

I know when i put the 6.0 in my truck it was a very nice power difference over the 5.3

Yeah, I'm going to swap the Z06 cam and springs in to the LQ4. I'm hoping to make some pretty good power with the 6.0 and the MPT70 but we'll see.

Is there anything else that I will need to do the swap other than the normal fluids and gaskets?
