I was going to suggest a muffler, but I thought I was going to sound like a novice. ☺️

My Suburban had some Flowmasters from the previous owner I bought it from. They were loud!

I don't like loud mufflers, so I wound up finding another OEM muffler at a part-out place and getting that swapped back. My wife actually made a comment once that she could hear me one block after leaving the house! 🤭

If you want lope for $200. Remove two spark plug wires. Keep the $200

not this exact kit, but I run this cam in my truck and like it. plenty of lope at idle.
Wow a knockoff with spings and pushrods, no ratings, and sold by a company vendor that specializes in lighting; for only $35 more than just the real cam itself. Surprised they don't throw in the needed higher stall convertor for an extra $10.

Ive reused some when its a rush job but i cant afford to have a comeback so i use new gaskets.

Bascially your just adjusting the Timing at idle to overcorrect and induce a idle that is unstable.
This is from a 2003 Silverado tune i read off earlier today. Imagine you have 16-18* timing at idle. Then throw in 20* and subtract 20* over and over and over..
Ive seen some tunes that were swinging +/- 35* at idle. Someone kinda local is making a killing on these kids tuning them like that. Raise top speed limiter, raise rev limiter, and that stock cam TOONER Idle Chop Chop..
Worse part is the guy has been locking the PCMs.

Great way to ruin a engine.. Ive got quite a few engines in the shop with Chinese cam shafts and lifters. They don't last long and it would have been cheaper to go with a known supplier cam than having to rebuild the engine cause the metal glitter soup in the pan doesn't lubricate well.

I guess you guys missed where I said not the exact kit, just showing specs. The sloppy stage 2 cam is not expensive and is known to work well. Here is the link to the Elgin cam that I actually used,
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZ7DTZ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZ7DTZ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
.

That said, this cam will need springs and a vvt delete, which will add cost. You won't get out of this for 200 bucks, but you can get the cam for that price and then buy the other parts you need as you get funds. A new muffler won't make it sound like it has a cam, the "cam tunes" are dumb and do nothing for you. If you want a cam, get a cam and keep putting parts on the shelf until you have everything you need. Then you can install it all at once and actually have what you want.

He has a 02 so no VVT stuff.
The SS2 cam on a stock converter is terrible.

Well he could do like me and and a blower at the same time, then the torque is good enough to overcome the converter.

I really do need a converter though.
