And JUST to set it straight in my head, what kind of power would a lq4 with 243's and an ls6 cam make?

How much power will it make? This GREATLY varies on the condition of the engine, and more importantly who tunes it.

I wouldn't get into anything with super high miles either way, and tuning is a touch and go issue here. I'd more then likely be trailering it to a reputable tuner. But I agree, lots of variables.
