Yeah I have a 5.3l in mine. Starting to think that Howards and ASA cams might be a little much with my stock heads.

If you want max power go with more lift, .525 is nothing

It's hard to say because you said you want max power so the biggest cam will be max power but then you trade off driveability and low end for that high hp number.

If you want something pretty good overall with that 3200 stall a 228 ish cam would be nice in there but it's pretty big. A lot of people like the 220/220 in trucks IIRC.

The cam you posted is also pretty big but you could go higher lift.

Honestly I would call Brian Tooley or Cam Motion and discuss your goals and setup and have a cam ground for you and your needs

Cool man.. I think I may do that. I was looking into custom grind like 224/228 560/558 110lsa. I dont mind losing some drivability.

You just have to be careful to not go too big, if you do the power will be shifted so high in the rpm range that you'll be getting into the power right at the time it needs to shift then on the shift you'll drop back down into a mehhh zone of power and the fun in driving it will suffer too.

I'm not exactly sure where that crossover is in cam specs but you're getting close to it, the stall definitely helps offset that though.

I thinking around a 226/230 600 lift 110-113 lsa advanced 2-4 degrees would be the ticket, for a large cam setup in a 5.3. But i'm not a cam master, just an avid reader.

If it were mine I'd be looking for something like a 220/225 600/600 111+4 ish

Don't take my numbers and run with them, call the guys I mentioned for the best results. Let us know what they say, I'd like to know if I was in the ballpark

If thunder racing was still making cams I’d get another 220-112 or a 224-112 for my lq9

i have a tr220-112 in my ecsb 2wd and I managed to get 13.59 in quarter and manage 17-18 mpg with 30.8” tall tire and 3.73

worked amazing with a 3200 stall
