How will comp thumpr hold up with turbo
#1
I just grabbed this truck and plan on using as daily driver as well as alitl work here and there for my auto detail biz. just really to show off for work and have alitl fun on the street and want it to sound mean. i have heard these 4.8L hold up to boost real well. im looking at going Turbo for most of my HP gains and was looking at the comp thumpr to put some bass in its voice. i understand its is probably not the best cam for boost, but my question is how well will it hold up to the boost. not talking much maybe 5-6psi

I'm not a fan of the Thumpr cams, way better cams available if you are looking for performance and certainly way better cams available for a turbo.

Sure would not be trying that in a 4.8...

Just used the Tick turbo cam as an example what sort of specs work with a turbo. I personally would not want to use a cam that big for a daily driver. The Texas Speed 220/220 with 114 LSA is another cam that would work well.

Right i understand the thumprs have that reputation for not so good performance but im also not looking for too too much. Especially once the turbo goes on.. that's going to give me more power than i will ever probably use. I'm going more for show with alitl go as I will be using it to pull up to my auto detail appointments. I want it to turn heads..not run 11s. Forgive me if this sounds dumb, but will those cams give that same old school muscle sound

What kind of issues could I potentially run into using that cam with a turbo set up. Would it really be that bad?
