lol, thanks for the compliments guys. I'm pretty impressed with the 5.3 no doudt, it's amazing what a little boost can do on a GEN III indeed. This video was 6psi, right after I pretty much got it on the road. Just leaning it out, and adding some timing made a HUGE difference above the above video.

This is a different set of marks, but the car the video is in is traveling at 55 MPH, which comes out to around 400 ft of snakes:

I had 4 brand new Hankook's on it, and after 600 miles....lol...all 4 are now bald.

Those burnout videos were on some measly 225 stock size tires tho, so it wasn't like I was laying the meat to the pavement. However, I switched up to a 265 tire cause people were giving me crap about there isn't enough tire so it just seems like it has decent power:

Turbo 5.3 Mustang on High/Low boost settings on the street - YouTube

Which didn't do anything..lol.

So, a nice set of 275 M/T E/T Street radials:

Dig to 132 (Guessing by tach, speedo is accurate) in 10 seconds:

'83 Mustang, 5.3L Turbo, 9psi Pump Gas, 0-132 on Drag Radials - YouTube

But that's a guess till I get it to the strip, as the converter could be pushing through up top as the power comes on, giving a false tach reading vs. MPH.

Idk, feels pretty stout, we'll find out in a week!

Soooo close to victory. Man I wanted that 10 so bad I could TASTE it.

11.02@127 was the best I could do. I was up to 15 degrees of timing, and I could probably have done around 18 on the race gas, but why push it. I made it a point not to bring any springs for the WG with me as well. That was 10 psi on the nose, the gauge never logged anything more on any pass.

for only 10lbs....I am VERY pleased. Car is 3360 lbs with my *** in the seat, which comes up to around 535RWHP, which is nearly SPOT on with what everyone else is getting.

15 lbs....some good gas and aggressive timing....coupled with a T brake, and I could definately see basement 10's.

Needless to say i'm happier than pigs in sh** at the moment, that far exceeded what I thought it would on that boost level. Drove home with not 1 problem all night and only used about 1/4 tank of fuel.

Didn't Orange Notch go 10.80's with a box stock lq4 and a 150 shot in a foxbody, and then got kicked out of Great Bend.

No, he never ran 10's, but was very close as well:

Test and Tune 10-1-10 - YouTube

11.2@116

He didn't get kicked out tho, on the 2nd run on nitrous you can see he slowed it way down. He was approached by track officials and presented with the opportunity to get kicked out, but decided against it.

My car needed a T brake to really utilize it's true potential. Boost came on right towards the end of 60'. Plus, I was only on 10psi and low ignition lead time to boot. With a 127 MPH trap speed, there was a lot left to be had in the car. But, it was an 80's fox, and I never really dug the car a whole lot.

I sold it Saturday. Taking the cash money and putting it into my RCSB 4x4 Silvy.
